Perlane® is a cosmetic dermal filler that replaces lost volume and restores youthful contours to the skin to smooth away moderate to sever facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines form your nose to the corners of your mouth. In the human body, natural hyaluronic acid provides volume and fullness to the skin, but it diminishes with age. Perlane® is made from this same acid and has been modified slightly to last longer than the body's own version of the acid.
Perlane® should maintain its cosmetic effect for at least six months, in the majority of patients. How long the aesthetic correction lasts is very individual. Scheduling of follow-up appointments six months after a procedure is recommended.
Unique Points Regarding Perlane®
- Perlane® is unique because it has larger particles designed for deeper injection than Restylane
- Perlane® was approved by the FDA in 2007 for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds like the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth.
- Perlane® is used in over 70 countries.
- Some Safety Considerations
- After your treatment , you may have some swelling, redness, pain, bruising, and tenderness. This will normally last less than seven days. Although rare, red or swollen small bumps may occur. To avoid bruising and bleeding, you should not use Perlane® is you have recently used drugs that thin your blood or prevent clotting. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18, you should not use Perlane®. Perlane® is available only through a licensed practitioner. What is Juvederm?
Juvederm Ultra injectable gel is a colorless hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into facial tissues to smooth wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar found in body that delivers nutrients, hydrates the skin by maintaining water, and acts as a cushioning agent.

You should seen immediate improvement in the treated areas. Results vary but may last 6 months or more.

Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature and usually last less than 7 days. The most common side effects include temporary injection site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with all skin injection procedures, there is risk of infection.
Is there anyone that can not be treated?
Juvederm Ultra should not be used in patients who have severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis, a history or presence of multiple severe allergies, or patients with a history of allergies to gram-positive bacterial proteins.
